SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

After School Chinese Language Program
Thanks very much to all of you who responded to the survey last week. You have helped us in developing a program that would best suit your needs. The information about class schedule, textbook, fee, etc. will soon be posted on the PTA website www.hunterpta.org. Please check the PTA website this week for updated information. Thank you.
The After School Chinese Language Program is a partnership between the PTA and Hunter College. The teachers will be sent by Dr. Der-lin Chao, director of Chinese Division of the Department of Classical and Oriental Studies. This program is “extracurricular” and is from October to May. Students of all levels are welcome.

FROM THE PTA

Order Magazines and Books Through QSP and Earn Cash for Hunter
By now you should have received the Annual Magazine Drive catalog and order forms. All orders and renewals made through our school program return 40% of the purchase price directly to the Hunter PTA in support of school programs.

Participation is easy: just show the catalogs to your friends and family members. Paid orders can be returned to the school office in any sealed envelope at any time through October. If you prefer to order online, you can do so 24/7 throughout the year. If you haven’t already registered, visit http://www.qsp.com and click “Register Now.” In the space for “School/Organization #”, enter Hunter PTA’s number: 425009256.

Our goal is for every Hunter family to use the QSP program to order and renew their family’s subscriptions for the years they are at Hunter. Why give the publisher all that money if it’s just as easy to give Hunter almost half of it? You might be surprised at the number of titles available: The Wall Street Journal, O, Time, New York, Newsweek, Gourmet, Forbes—they’re all there. And there are great combo deals as well as books and CDs. If you have questions, or if there is a magazine title you don’t see in the catalog or online, please contact Wendy Dubin at blueplate12@gmail.com

**The PTA Volunteer Party Scheduled for September 30th has been canceled**
