CLUBS & CO-CURRICULARS

The G. O. Club Open House will run in the Auditorium during 4th period, Activities and 5th periods on October 7th, 2010.

Action for Energy Awareness
Action for Energy Awareness will be having trivia contests assessing your knowledge of energy, at the Club Open House on October 7th. Drop by for club information and a chance to win some prizes! Our meeting times are Thursday’s activities period in room 416. Meetings will begin after the open house.

Box Tops Collection At Hunter!
Clip, collect, and drop them in the collection box in the lobby. All money raised will go towards in-school projects for students, voted upon by students. Box Tops are found on everyday items like cereal boxes, tissue boxes, and more. Any questions, email herzogj@rcn.com

Fed Challenge
A Fed Challenge Planning/Interest meeting will be held on Thursday, October 7 during Activities Period in Room 304. Fed Challenge is a co-curricular club that teaches economics and culminates in a team presentation at the Federal Reserve Bank in NY about the U.S. economy. Korea Society Project Bridge
Project Bridge is a yearlong program for juniors and seniors. The program includes regular meetings and concludes with a subsidized 10-day study tour to Korea in April. Students study Korean language, history, and culture, as well as the 1992 riots in Los Angeles-known in Korean as Sa-I-Gu. “The objective of these activities is to help the participants gain insight into Korea, learn leadership skills and develop intercultural understanding.” The study tour includes visits to historical sites and a home stay with a family. Association of Justices of the Supreme Court of New York

2010 topic: Fourth Amendment issues
Prizes: $100 US savings bond, publication of essay, and opportunity to intern with a justice of the New York Supreme Court

9th Graders with the Last Name Smith-Z (Dr. Bleecker’s new counselees): Please sign-up on the door of Room 441A for your choice of either Activities, 5th or 8th Period, to participate in an introductory/get-to-know you, workshop this Friday.
