Welcome back from Hunter Online Weekly

We’d like to take a moment to reintroduce Hunter Online Weekly (HOW), the email newsletter brought to you by members of the Hunter Life Committee. HOW delivers news about the community to the community: students, faculty, and parents.

HOW is a weekly email containing the upcoming week's activities, events, and other important information. The Hunter Online Weekly delivers information about events such as:

  • Club activities and fundraisers
  • Events, performances, games, sign-ups, etc.
  • Term announcements
  • Announcements from faculty
  • Other opportunities for Hunter students

The best part about the Hunter Online Weekly is that you are welcome to contribute! If you have an announcement you’d like to see included in HOW simply send an email to HunterOnlineWeekly@gmail.com (instructions below). Here are some examples of who should contribute:

  • Club leaders
  • Term council members
  • Publication editors
  • G.O. officers
  • Club advisors, faculty members, department chairs, administration, etc.

If you were planning on putting a sign up in the hallway, remember to send an email to HOW so that your information can be delivered directly to community members and posted online each week. By including an announcement in HOW you reach a large audience, save paper, and have your information be easily accessible at a later date.

Including your announcement in HOW is optional, but we hope for your participation so that it presents a full picture of the many activities and opportunities that exist at Hunter. HOW does not endeavor to replace any pre-existing method of communication such as the HCHS website, calendar, or Hilites newsletter, but instead aims to deliver new and time-sensitive information directly to community members. If you miss a poster or sign in the hallway, forget to check the website, or if there is simply a change or an announcement to be made, HOW might be able to fill in the gaps.

HOW it works:

  • Announcements for the following week must be received by 3pm each Friday, no exceptions (announcements for September 21st – 25th need to be submitted by 3pm on September 18th).
  • The HOW email will be sent out over the weekend.
  • Hunter Online Weekly will be sent to all students, parents, and faculty

Include the following information in your submission to HunterOnlineWeekly@gmail.com:

name of club or organization:
what the event or announcement is:
date and time of event:
location:
brief description and any additional information or website links you would like to include:
email contact for questions:

Submissions are due by each Friday at 3pm.

Hunter Online Weekly won’t be an effective communication tool without your submissions! Send your announcements about next week’s activities to HunterOnlineWeekly@gmail.com.

A few of the students working on HOW may be doing outreach at school for the next couple of days. Look for them and the HOW signs! We hope to publicize your event or activity soon!
